     I purchased this quilt made by the 1940, Manchester Birthday Club, at an auction sale held in the summer of 2000.  I feel so lucky to own it.  Embroidered on the quilt blocks are the names of my great grandmother, Mina (Wade) Reiland, two of my great-aunts, Mabel and Christine Wade, and my dad's cousin's wife, Lois Rundel.  As an added bonus, Grace Dow's name is also on the quilt.  For those of you familiar with the Laura Ingalls Wilder books, she is better known as "Baby Grace."
